About the Programme

The Parivartan ECSS Programme 2026-27 is a scholarship initiative by HDFC Bank through its CSR programme, Parivartan. The programme is built on a simple but powerful conviction: a student's financial circumstances or personal hardships should never be the reason they discontinue school or college. The opportunity is open to school students from Classes 1 to 12, as well as those pursuing diploma, ITI, polytechnic, UG, and PG (both general and professional) courses. The programme aims to provide financial assistance of up to INR 75,000 to meritorious students with limited financial means. Preference will be given to those who have faced a personal or family crisis that may affect their ability to continue their education.

Parivartan has been a catalyst for community-level transformation through focused interventions in rural development, education, skill development, livelihood enhancement, healthcare, hygiene promotion, and financial literacy. Through the ECSS initiative, this commitment reaches students directly, helping ensure that personal or family crises do not disrupt their academic journey.

Scholarships

Eligibility

  • Open for Indian nationals only.
  • The students must be currently studying in Classes 1 to 12, diploma, ITI, and polytechnic courses in private, government, or government-aided schools
  • The applicants must have passed the previous qualifying examination with at least 55% marks.
  • Annual family income must be less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lakh.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who are facing personal or family crises that have occurred during the past three years due to which they are unable to continue bearing the cost of education and are at risk of dropping out.

NOTE:   For those pursuing a Diploma course, only students pursuing a diploma after Class 12 are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Benefits:

  • For Class 1 to 6 - INR 15,000 | For Class 7 to 12, Diploma, ITI, & Polytechnic students - INR 18,000

  • Passport size photograph
  • Previous year's marksheets (2025-26)
  • Government-issued identity proof of the applicant
  • Current year admission proof (Fee Receipt/Admission Letter/Institution ID Card/Bonafide Certificate) (2026-27)
  • Bank account details (copy of passbook or cancelled cheque in the applicant's or parent's name)
  • Income Proof (any of the three proofs given below)
    • Income Proof issued by Gram Panchayat/Ward Counsellor/Sarpanch
    • Income Proof issued by SDM/DM/CO/Tehsildar
    • Affidavit
  • Proof of family/personal crisis (if applicable)

Application Process

  • Click on the Apply Now button below.
  • Login to Buddy4Study with your registered ID and land onto the ‘Application Form Page’.
    • If not registered - Register at Buddy4Study with your Email/Mobile/Gmail account.
  • You will now be redirected to the ‘ Parivartan ECSS Scholarship Programme 2025-26’ application form page.
  • Click on the ‘Start Application’ button to begin the application process.
  • Fill in the required details in the online application form.
  • Upload relevant documents
  • Accept the ‘Terms and Conditions’ and click on ‘Preview’.
  • If all the details filled in the application are correctly showing on the preview screen, click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the application process.

Note: Documents accepted as crisis proof include: Death Certificate (for loss of an earning family member), Official Employer Letter (for job loss), Notarised Affidavit from a Notary Public (for self-employment failure), Medical Report or Prescription from a certified doctor (for illness or medical emergency), and an Official Government Document confirming impact (for natural disaster).

  • The selection process of Parivartan ECSS Programme is a multi-stage process where students are selected based on merit, financial need, or personal/family crisis. Details of the selection process are mentioned below:

    • Announcement of the final list of scholars

  • Applicants must submit proof of their current year's admission to apply for this scholarship. If you do not have the fee receipt, you can submit the admission letter/admission confirmation letter to be considered for this scholarship.

  • The applications for Parivartan ECSS Programme will open in three rounds/cycles. The first cycle deadline is September 4, 2025, the second cycle deadline is October 30, 2025, and the third cycle deadline is December 31, 2025.

  • No. You must score at least 55% marks in your qualifying examination to be eligible for this scholarship.

  • This scholarship is now available for multiple years. It aims to provide ongoing academic support for our current scholars who continue to meet the eligibility criteria in the subsequent years.

  • The applicants can upload any of the following documents as proof of income:

    • Income certificate issued by the SDM/DM/Collector's Office/Tehsildar
    • Salary slip or letter from the employer
    • ITR
    • Affidavit

  • The following documents can be submitted for different crisis cases:

    Crisis Documents
    Death of earning family member Death certificate
    Job loss in the family Official letter from the employer confirming job loss
    Self-employment failure Affidavit from a Notary public stating the failure
    Medical treatment or critical illness Medical report or prescription from a certified doctor
    Natural disasters Official document from government authorities confirming the impact

  • Yes, you may apply for this scholarship provided you have proof of your current year of admission, ensuring the continuity of your education after the gap year.
